Rust, a little late, i know, but you're an idiot.

The CIA was formed in the 50's to deal with the KGB and GRU. At the time the only intelligence ops in the pacific were run by the Navy, and they did know that the japonese were coming. Roosevelt wanted to enter the war but knew he couldn't without the support of the American people. Pearl Harbor was to the US Government what Convetry was to Churchill, a necessary evil to bring out the better good.

btw, Go Rus!

Poet, its hardly an urban myth. there is more than enough evidence pointing to the fact that we had already *****ed the Japanese diplomatic code and knew what was coming. Then there were the sightings and destruction of japanese subs hours before the attack just inside the waters of Pearl Harbor.

As far as our best ships being there. The ships in the class of the Arizona, as well the other battleships moored there were obsolete long before Pearl happened. In fact, the newest vessels there were the Carriers.

Why? Because my grandfather worked in Fleet Intelligence at the time, and they all knew what was going to happen, not the scope, but they knew the Japanese were going to attack a major US Naval base in the Pacific in the first week of December.

Since we didn't have too many, much less a major naval base where so many ships were parked, it wasn't too hard to deduce that they were going for Pearl.
